Here is the official sign up for the 5th annual Marilyn J. Neu "MJN Help Defeat MS Slingball Tournament"!  The goal is to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis and have some fun at the Oregon Coast!   Our mom, Marilyn Neu, was all about being good to people, paying it forward, and having a fun time!  Please remember, if you have never played before...no worries...it's super easy and we had two rookies in the top 6 last year!

Sign up ASAP by filling out and sending the attached registration form!

Friday Night Black Shirt Silent Auction June 24thAt the coast we don't do "black tie" but we will do "black shirt"!  We will have a Friday Night Check in and Silent Auction at Twist Wine Tasting Room in down town Pacific City (don't worry...we'll have some cool BLACK SLINGBALL SHIRTS for only $10).  Nothing fancy, but a chance to taste some wine and bid on some cool donated items to raise additional funds.

Mini Marilyn Kids Slingball Tourney: Due to lots of interest, we will be hosting a Kids Tourney 12 years old and under.  $40 entry gets kids a t-shirt, BBQ, and participation metal.  Similar rules, double elimination, but play to 11.  If you have a child who like to participate, please fill out and send in the attached Mini Marilyn Kids Slingball registration form.

Volunteers needed!  With the tournament growing, if you are not playing...you can still volunteer to help keep score or keep the tourney moving.  You can also volunteer even if you are playing in the tourney.  Please check the volunteer box on the registration form if you'd like to volunteer!

Donations needed!  Have a cool connection like Nike, the Blazers, or adidas?  Or even gift certificates for restaurants or online companies?  Anything that we could use for the silent auction or as a prize for the tourney!  Send them to randy@slingball.com

Proceeds go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Portland.

The favorites:

Bryan "Green Machine" Green.  Named the Green Machine a) for his last name and b) for his compulsive support of the Oregon Ducks.  Huskies & Beavers ..bring it on!

Kit "knuckle ball" Harper, known for his unique knuckle ball style, a true throw back player.  Champion from two years back, still a very dangerous apponent.

Carter "the Negator" Neu, known for his supreme defensive play.  He simply "negates" each of his opponents tosses and wears his terminator sunglasses to intimidate his opponent.  Runner up last year and has his own professional court in his back yard.

Brian "Frank the Tank" Cook, known for his cool, calm comebacks.  He lulls his opponents into a false sense of security, then suddenly scores in large bunches to eliminate them.  Try to get Brian to transfer to Frank (his alter ego) the night prior.

Tyson "Sea Bass" Labrousse, a two time champion with incredible stamina.  He literally wears his opponents down with consistent precision.  Past his prime?  Or Primed for return to supremacy?

Bill "the Competitor" Swanick  who's "rookie of the year" performance last year catapulted him into the semis.  A true competitor that does not like to lose!

Angela "Swoosh" Dagler, who works for Nike and is outfitted in "state of the art" Swoosh gear.  The only female to ever crack the semi-finals and with a chip on her shoulder to take the guys down!

Steve "Male P" Gotsch, you have to buy him a beer to find out his nickname.   Also, the man who took out Kit "knuckle ball" Harper.

Rob "the Huskie" Warnaca, representing the great city of Seattle and the Purple & Gold.  He hunts Beavers and Ducks!

Ronan "the ultimate warrior" Eggleston, even though Ronan's name is spelled different than the famous Ronin Warriors, it's too good pass up and just sounds super cool.  Roll with it Ronan!

Craig "Racer 5" Cook, fueled by Racer 5 IPA, Craig has perfected his toss by performing massive amounts of "16 ounce" curls.  Yes, he has a Keg in his garage.

Erik Wald & Aaron Angelo, if these two match up you won't want to miss it.  Like Ali vs. Frazier, Magic vs. Bird, Frodo vs. Golum ...you get the point.

Thanks again all!
